DiscloseAll has been in the Insurance industry since 2001. We are devoted and dedicated to provide a service to our clients and our potential clients.
We have found that this service that we deliver at no cost to our clients is something that nobody understands until it happens to you.
This is a very upsetting and sad experience for us at DiscloseAll. The reason why we are so committed is because of our own life changing experience in 2012 when my father’s life insurance claim did not pay out.
At that stage we have been insurance brokers for 12 years and we couldn’t get his policy paid out. (Get the full story http://discloseall.co.za/the-story-behind-discloseall/)
How disturbing is that? After that we realised to what extend the insurance companies goes to in order to repudiate a claim and then our eyes opened to the new world of life insurance.
How can I as an insurance broker go out and sell false hope to my clients?
How is it possible for your life insurer to use your medical aid claims history against you when you claim?
How can we change the way life insurance companies underwrite their clients at application stage?
These are all the questions that we had to find answers for.
At the end there was one simple answer.
If you take out a life insurance policy, and you have not obtained your full medical aid claims history from your medical aid provider and all of the doctors that you have seen before the policy commenced. Then you will be the next repudiated claim…
Why don’t you know about this and is this even possible in today’s day and age?
It is very possible. To think about it very logically. How many times do you have a claim on your life insurance policy? Maybe once or twice in your life.
But how many times have you claimed on your short term insurance policy?
Because you have had a lot more experience with claiming for a car accident or a burst geyser, you know when you change your short term policy to disclose your previous claims you had.
If your new Insurer had to find out about a burst geyser after you put in a claim for your car accident claim, then they will decline your claim because of non-disclosure.
The same goes for your life policy. If you are on a Medical Aid then there is a very clear track record of ALL your medical history and ALL doctors that you have seen your WHOLE LIFE.
Your medical aid claims history is the perfect paper trail of your life.
When you take out a life insurance policy, you need to go through your medical aid claims history and disclose it to the life insurer.
This way you don’t start with an application, you start as if you are submitting a claim.
This is the only way that you can have peace of mind that your family will be protected in the event of death, disability or severe illness.
We at DiscloseAll has made this our duty to help our clients.
